| Resumen: | Colombia presenta una persistente y alta Tasa de Desempleo (TD) por lo que este documento trata de explicar este fenómeno desde el punto de vista de la capacidad que tiene la Inversión Extranjera Directa (IED) de generar empleos; en este caso, considerando como hipótesis que existe una relación inversa entre estas variables y que los efectos de la IED son significativos sobre TD. Los primeros dos capítulos abordaran la evolución de estas variables con el fin de analizar sus respectivos comportamientos e identificar aquellos aspectos institucionales y choques que pueden sesgar las mediciones realizadas en el siguiente capítulo, se encuentra que la TD se mantiene a pesar de las diferentes reformas apuntando a la flexibilización laboral, mientras que la IED es sensible a las expectativas y es fuertemente impulsada gracias a un marco legal que favorece el comercio. |
| Abstract: | Colombia presents a persistent and high Unemployment Rate (TD) for which this document tries to explain this phenomenon from the point of view of the capacity of Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) to generate jobs; in this case, considering as a hypothesis that there is an inverse relationship between these variables and that the effects of FDI are significant on TD. The first two chapters will address the evolution of these variables in order to analyze their respective behaviors and identify those institutional aspects and shocks that can bias the measurements made in the next chapter, it is found that the DT is maintained despite the different reforms aimed at to labor flexibility, while FDI is sensitive to expectations and is strongly boosted thanks to a legal framework that favors trade. |
