Resumen:	Este trabajo presenta la propuesta de construcción del Hospital Materno Infantil “Esperanza de Vida” en la provincia de Guanentá, en el departamento de Santander, Colombia, con el propósito de implementar el plan parcial del núcleo de desarrollo logístico de dicha provincia. Al plantear la viabilidad de este proyecto se identifica la necesidad de mejorar el acceso a la salud en la región, debido a que la crisis por la que pasa el Sistema General de Seguridad Social en Salud del país se acentúa en la región, dando como resultado altos índices de mortalidad. Adicionalmente, se encuentran altos índices de natalidad, lo que indica que con la implementación de un hospital materno infantil en la región se lograría mejorar el acceso a la salud y aumentar el bienestar y la calidad de vida de los habitantes. Para esto, se recupera la propuesta arquitectónica de dos hospitales materno- infantiles de España y uno infantil en Inglaterra, se identifica el contexto conceptual y normativo en el que se implementaría esta propuesta y se identifican las características de la región.
Abstract:	This document presents the construction’s proposal of the Maternity and Children’s Hospital "Esperanza de Vida" in the province of Guanentá, located at the department of Santander, Colombia. This project has the purpose of implementing the partial plan of the nucleus of logistic development in this province. The viability of this project resides in the identification of the need to improve the access to health in this region, due to the crisis that passes through the General System of Social Security in Health of the country is accentuated in there, giving as a result high mortality rates. In addition, there are high birth rates, which indicates that the implementation of a maternity and children’s hospital in the region would improve access to health and increase the well-being and quality of life in Guanentá. For this purpose, the architectural proposal of two maternity and children’s hospitals in Spain and a children's hospital in England is recovered. The conceptual and normative context, in which this proposal is implemented, and the characteristics of the region are identified.
