Abstract
Las estructuras de techos verdes han cobrado gran importancia recientemente por los diferentes beneficios ambientales, sociales y económicos que generan. Es por esto, que a través de este trabajo se analiza el potencial de construcción de un techo verde en el edificio administrativo de la sede Ecocampus de la Universidad de América. Se realiza la revisión bibliográfica de las características que un techo verde debe tener para su correcto funcionamiento y las diferentes opciones que existen para la escogencia del sustrato, la vegetación, el material impermeabilizante y la función que se desea implementar en la cobertura verde, se busca encontrar todas las actividades previas que deben ser tenidas en cuenta para la construcción del mismo.

Green roof structures have recently gained great importance due to the different environmental, social and economic benefits they generate. For this reason, this paper analyzes the potential for the construction of a green roof in the administrative building of the Ecocampus headquarters of the Universidad de América. A bibliographic review of the characteristics that a green roof should have for its proper functioning and the different options that exist for the choice of the substrate, vegetation, waterproofing material and the function to be implemented in the green roof is made, it is sought to find all the previous activities that must be taken into account for the construction of the same.
